Instructional Designer
Southern New Hampshire University - Manchester, NH (Remote)
At SNHU, I have been working on new product developments, specifically in creating courses for the General Education program. I have been able to effectively work with SMEs from a variety of content areas by using innovative communication and collaboration techniques. As part of the program development, we have added a number of new instructional designers to the team, who I have mentored. I continue to work on my skills as an instructional designer through professional development and growth opportunities, and help ensure a quality learning experience for students, through looking at data, addressing feedback, and revising content. Also in my work, I continue to:
Collaborate and build relationships with team members and stakeholders to develop new courses that are interactive, engaging learning experiences that push learners and achieve goals
Use university best practices and documentation to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed organization standards, and ensure that others (including SMEs and instructional design partners) develop quality material
Coordinate with specialists and departments throughout the university to create multimedia content, ensure accessibility of all content, and provide relevant resources to learners and instructors
Instructional Technology Specialist
Northbridge Public Schools - Whitinsville, MA
In my work with Northbridge Public Schools, I helped design learning experiences for staff members to help them effectively integrate technology into their curriculum. A major project during my time in Northbridge was to create workshops, asynchronous courses, job-aids, and other supportive material to help staff at the elementary school effectively use the new technological tools they had at a new school. In doing this, I used Camtasia to create several walkthrough videos, Canva and Google Docs to create Job-Aids and handouts, and presented workshops in person and through online platforms. Other work that I did during my time in Northbridge included:
Created learning experience for staff and students in educational technology
Strategized with stakeholders to develop strong, outcome-focused learning experiences for students
Developed online library of tutorial and instructional videos to assist staff and students in using available technology
Assistant Principal/Director of Technology Integration
Mendon-Upton Regional School District - Mendon, MA
One of my primary responsibilities during my time in Mendon-Upton was to lead the implementation of the one-to-one learning program. Especially during the initial rollout, one of my main goals was to ensure that staff felt comfortable using the devices with the students and integrating them into their traditional curriculum. To do this, I created learning experiences for staff including workshops, asynchronous courses, and job-aids. Specifically, I:
Collaborated with subject-area stakeholders to determine best practices in using the devices within the content areas, and planned learning experiences to support that.
Facilitated logistical workflows and supportive training to ensure that staff, students, and families understood the capabilities of the devices and felt comfortable using them on a regular basis.
Communicated with the community at large to help create buy-in for the importance of integrating technology into the educational experience to equip students with the tools they need to be successful in the 21st century.
